You may not have asked for this. You may not even need this. But it’s happening.
If I can’t buy every single pretty, sparkly thing online then I can say what I would style it with if it was me, in case you buy it. Also, I’m having so much fun today pretending I’m a stylist.
So, without further ado, here’s what I would wear, and where I would wear it to:
The Hot Date
Show her who’s top by turning up in a dominatrix-esq outfit. I love sheer shirts, so does Rose. If you are feeling a little unconfident, team the shirt with high waisted trousers, or leather-look leggings and tuck it in, that way you’re showing less skin. Black is universally flattering and grown-up, sheer is sexy (feel free to wear something underneath, the sheer is still sexy) and the red lipstick is if you want to go the extra mile. I read a study recently about how wearing even the tiniest bit of red makes men think about sex. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE WOMEN? Maybe you could try out the red and let me know how it goes. I love this look and almost everything in this picture is in the sale. Feel free to dress it down by switching the boots to Dr. Martens.
New Years Eve
A playsuit is usually my answer to everything. They’re flirty, they show a bit of skin but not too much, and you don’t have to worry about sitting with your legs crossed. I got so excited I gave you TWO options, with different bag and shoe options to dress it up or dress it down. Of course, you can switch out the playsuit for a jumpsuit or a dress. I just thought this was cute!
The Work Do
I put skirt options for a work do, but you can always switch the skirts out for trousers! I have this exact outfit with the green bodysuit and black skirt. Because the top is tight and the skirt gives you a curvy shape, it’s a sexy outfit. But if you wear this with boots and black tights, you’re not really showing any skin at all. I love high neck tops, they look good with hair up or down and then you can add an headband or some sparkly earrings.
The Family Gathering
Out come the Xmas jumpers! But I think it’s still really nice to wear a cute top and jeans when going to a family party. You’ve still got to look cute in case any hot cousins twice removed turn up AM I RIGHT? Jeans mean you can sit on the floor if there aren’t enough chairs and get down and play with the kids. Cute top (especially in velvet) is festive and pretty. Christmas jumpers are great because it’s cold, it’s Christmas and they hide the bloat when you overindulge in the chocolate log. Accessories make you feel dressed up but you can ditch them if nobody else put in the effort. PERFECT.
Not Going Out
Perhaps you haven’t been invited to any Xmas and NYE parties this year. Don’t worry. You’re not alone. I’ve had years when friends have gone abroad, years when I’ve not felt like going out. One year I spent with my boyfriend and WE BROKE UP. ON NEW YEARS EVE. If you are spending NYE at home, you could potentially have even more fun than those out and about. Slip-on your warmest, toastiest slippers, your silkiest PJs, grab yourself a hot choc and snuggle down with a good film and your hot water bottle. Start the New Year feeling well-rested and calm and most importantly, cute.
A Nice Top and Jeans

Great post. My fav line: “You’ve still got to look cute in case any hot cousins twice removed turn up AM I RIGHT?”. LOL ❤️
Chic and on fleek! I don’t reckon I could carry off many of these outfits (I do rock a purple onesie with a rainbow on it when I’m having a solo dance party) but it was a fun read just the same!
